Golf Course & Country Club
Mosquito Control in South Florida
Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale's golf courses are built around the very water features that breed mosquitoes most aggressively. Lakes on every hole, retention ponds along cart paths, Intracoastal-adjacent rough — the pressure is structural.
Golf Course Design Creates Mosquito Breeding Habitat at Scale
South Florida's premier clubs — Boca West, Broken Sound, St. Andrews Country Club, Polo Club, Miralago Parkland, Plantation Golf — are designed with water features that are specifically attractive to mosquitoes. Shallow lake edges with aquatic vegetation, retention ponds along cart paths, mangrove-edged rough, low-lying areas that hold rain — these are breeding environments.
After South Florida rain events, mosquito populations can spike 300–500% within 5–7 days. A rain on Monday means afternoon rounds on Saturday are a problem if you haven't treated. Our biweekly schedule keeps the population suppressed continuously — not reactively.
Member retention and tournament reputation both depend on an outdoor experience that matches the quality of the facility. Mosquitoes are a fixable problem — not an accepted one.
Golf Course Mosquito Control — FAQs
Common questions from South Florida golf course superintendents and club GMs.
Can you treat around golf course water features and lakes without affecting fish or aquatic life?+
Yes. Our barrier spray targets vegetation, rough edges, cart path surroundings, and structural surfaces — never open water. The plant-oil actives we use (Citronella, Rosemary, Castor Oil, Geraniol, Peppermint) are not registered for direct aquatic application because they're applied to land-side vegetation only. Fish and aquatic wildlife are not affected.
How do you schedule treatment around tee times and tournament play?+
We work with your superintendent or GM to identify windows that avoid interference with play — early morning before the first tee time, midday during low-traffic holes, or off-days. We can treat individual zones independently, so a treatment near the 10th hole doesn't require us to shut down the 1st tee.
Will the formula harm turf, ornamentals, or the course landscaping?+
No. Our formula is plant-oil based and safe on established turf, ornamentals, and course landscaping once dry (15–30 minutes). We treat rough, natural areas, cart path perimeters, and vegetation edges — not fairway grass directly. Your superintendent will see no adverse effects on turf quality.
What about the clubhouse, pool, and member areas?+
Absolutely — the clubhouse perimeter, pool deck, practice greens, outdoor dining terrace, and parking areas are all included. We treat the full property footprint, not just the fairways. Member comfort in the clubhouse and practice areas is often where the service has the most immediate visible impact.
We have members with chemical sensitivities — is this safe?+
Our Mosquito Protection Blend uses plant-oil actives that have very low toxicity profiles. Once dry (15–30 minutes), there is no detectable odor or residue concern for people with standard chemical sensitivities. We can provide a full ingredient disclosure to your risk management team or member services coordinator on request.
How does pricing work for a large golf course or country club?+
Commercial golf and country club properties are priced by acreage and treated zone complexity. A full club walkthrough is included in the quote process. We price fairly for the scale — large properties get proportional rates, not residential pricing multiplied arbitrarily.
